Fall is finally here! The kids are back in school, temperatures are finally comfortable, and it’s time to enjoy a hot cup of coffee (and even the occasional pumpkin spice latte!). It’s important to enjoy the gorgeous fall weather that’s sandwiched between the uncomfortably hot summer and the uncomfortably cold winter. And what better way to get outside than by going to a fun fall event with your family? Here are a few fun places you can take your family this fall.
Summers Farm Corn Maze
Kids love solving puzzles, so what can be better than solving a giant corn maze! The corn maze at Summers Farm also offers a fun game of clues and wits to make the puzzle even more challenging to solve! Kids gather clues throughout the corn maze to solve the mystery of what happened to Farmer Joe. There are several animal suspects and only one right answer! Can your family solve the mystery?
When you’re not hiking through the corn maze, you can listen to live music, pick your own pumpkins in the pumpkin patch, and participate in lots of other fun activities!
Diggerland Construction Theme Park
Does your child look up to you as a role model? Do they also want to work in construction when they grow up? Then why not introduce them to the fun world of construction now? At Diggerland Construction Theme Park, kids get to play with REAL construction equipment in safe and controlled environments! Kids can dig up dirt, drive around a course with a chaperone, and have fun using all kinds of construction equipment that has been specially modified for kids! There are rides and games for kids of all ages, and there are even shows, an arcade, and two adorable resident goats named Dozer and Diesel.
The Diggerfest Fall Festival is happening right now! Kids get to explore a corn maze, hay ride, pumpkin patch, and other fun fall activities! If you have a birthday coming up, Diggerland also hosts birthday parties for 10 kids and 10 adults, with the birthday kid and their parents being free! The birthday child also gets their own construction vest to wear and take home as a keepsake.
Boordy Vineyards
Looking to just get away with your spouse for a romantic date night? Every weekend in November, Boordy Vineyards hosts a free “Trucks N’ Tunes” event from 1pm-5pm. Enjoy delicious fare from a food truck from either Brick’N’Fire Pizza Company or Pasta la Vista Baby while listening to several live bands and musicians. Boordy offers wine tastings of their Maryland-made wines with a complimentary wine glass to take home! Stroll around the beautiful -acre farm and explore the 19th-century barn on your romantic date night.
